I'm true to my word...let me explain

I interviewed a younger man recently, and the interview went a bit sideways before I was able to course-correct and get us back on track.

Me: Tell me about your strengths as an employee. What makes you a good worker?

Applicant: I'm observant and true to my word. Let me explain. Let's say a girl asks me if a dress makes her look fat, right? If it does, then I'm going to say 'yes.' I'm not saying it in a bad way, I just don't want to lie to her. I don't want her to look uglier than she already is. I'm doing her a service by providing honest feedback, right?

Me: Uh...

Applicant: I mean, how bad would it be if I lied and told her 'no' and her feelings got hurt later? That's not fair to her, so I would be honest up front. I'm always true to my word.

Me: Sounds good.

Applicant: Am I wrong?

Me: Let's just talk about the position in more detail.
